Two Main Motivations To Network

In my opinion, there are two main motivations to network. First is to exchange information, second is to build trust. The two are intertwined. To do them well, you cannot have one and not the other.

For example, you want to look for a partner to share a tuition premise. This is a piece of business information. Would you advertise on social media or some telegram groups about it?

Maybe you would, if no suitable names come to your mind. However, I bet you will be quite wary and you will spend lots of time sizing up whoever responds to your advertisement.

It will be quite different, if you have a close-knitted group of tutors whom you have frequent contact with. You will be more ready to share this piece of business information with people you trust.

Exchange of information is facilitated by the presence of trust.
