What a privilege to be able to solve Maths problems. To make sense of formulas. To see patterns in numbers.
What a priviege to be able to teach. To sense what hinders another person’s understanding. To conjure new ways to illustrate the same idea. To break complex things up into smaller things.
What a privilege to relate to my students. To be trusted enough to hear their honest thoughts. To feel the bond of friendship that is hard to sever, that goes beyond teaching knowledge.
These are my antidotes against feeling of “I am just a Maths teacher”.
